Some things you don't plan. They just happen a certain way and instead of putting them back or organizing them differently, you just let them be. Instead of fighting it, I just let the pieces fall where they may this time.

On the beach in August of 2009, the first piece fell.

"A Mad Mud Water Jam" is a collection of personal reflections, gritty hymnals, front porch folk, and backyard blues.

It's about life, love, and death, in the deep south. All three of which are just a little bit better down there.

Some of Perks' writings can be found on his personal Myspace, Facebook, and Blog pages along with poems that have been published in Fertilesource.com and Poetshaven.com. A chapbook collection of his poems may be purchased in the online store.
